Originating from the foxtrot and polka traditions, it features a distinctive quick-quick-slow-slow rhythm pattern danced to country music.     Do I need cowboy boots to learn Two-Step?

    Not at all! While boots are traditional, any shoes with a smooth sole work great for learning. We recommend avoiding sneakers since the rubber can catch on the floor.

    How is Two-Step different from line dancing?

    Two-Step is a partner dance where you travel around the floor counter-clockwise with your partner. Line dancing is done in rows without a partner. Many country venues feature both!

    How long until I can dance at a country bar?

    After just 2-3 lessons, you'll have the basic step and a few turns down—enough to confidently hit the floor at any honky-tonk. You'll pick up more moves with practice.
